Welcome to StaarCast: Your Guide for Presenters

Welcome to StaarCast! We are so glad you are presenting with us. StaarCast is where our community gathers all year long for live meetings, workshops, and recorded sessions, and presenters like you are what make it special. This page walks you through everything you need to get ready, from your first sign-in to your first live session.

Find your step below:

Step 1: Your presenter account

When we schedule you to present, we list you as the presenter on your session using your email address. If you already have a StaarCast account, please tell us which email address it uses, so we don’t create a second one.

To sign in for the first time:

  1. Go to StaarCast.com. In the menu, point at Members, then choose Log In. On a phone, tap the menu button at the top first.
  2. Under “First time here?”, choose set up your password.
  3. Enter your email address and choose Send Setup Link.
  4. Open the Set Up Your Password email from StaarCast Community, follow the link, and choose your password. The link works for 72 hours. If it has expired, simply request a new one.

When you set your password, your presenter tools are switched on. After that, you can sign in with either your email address or your username. If you don’t see the Add Meeting and Add Video buttons described below, please let us know and we will turn them on for you.

Step 2: Add your service address

StaarCast needs a service address on file before anyone can enter a meeting or play a video, and that includes presenters entering their own sessions. Your service address is where you usually use StaarCast, and we use it for sales tax.

  1. Open your Account page and scroll down to Service Address.
  2. If it’s blank or wrong, choose the button in that section and fill in your country, street, city, state, and ZIP code.
  3. Choose Verify & Save.

Step 3: Schedule your meetings

Your Meetings page lists your upcoming and live meetings. To create one, choose Add Meeting. A window opens with these fields:

  • Title (required): the name of your meeting.
  • Description: tell attendees what to expect. You can add bold, italics, lists, and links.
  • Room (required): where the meeting happens. Your usual room is filled in for you.
  • Start Date & Time and Meeting Duration, from 15 to 90 minutes.
  • Status: Draft keeps the meeting to yourself while you prepare it, Published makes it visible, and Private hides it from the public listings.
  • Meeting Background Image (optional): a custom background for your meeting room.

Choose Create Meeting to save. To make changes later, choose Edit on the meeting card, and then Save Changes. A meeting that is running shows a LIVE badge, and its card shows Join Now.

Step 4: Host your meeting

  • Arrive early. As the host, you can enter the room 30 minutes before the start. Attendees can enter 15 minutes before. Anyone who arrives before you sees Waiting for Host and is let in as soon as you join.
  • Join. On the meeting page, choose Click to Join Meeting. Your browser may ask to use your camera and microphone; please allow both.
  • Record. Use Start Recording and Stop Recording in the meeting controls. If you haven’t started recording three minutes into your session, StaarCast reminds you. Recordings are processed after the meeting and then attached to it.
  • Invite a guest. Choose Guest Access, pick your guest from the list, and choose Generate Link. The link is copied for you, and you can also Send it by email. Only people whose documents we have approved appear in the list, so let us know ahead of time who you would like to bring in. Each guest link works five times within 24 hours.
  • End the meeting. When you leave, StaarCast asks whether to end the meeting for everyone. Choose No, Keep Meeting Open if you are stepping away and coming back, or Yes, End Meeting when you are finished.

Step 5: Share your videos

Your Videos page lists your recorded and uploaded videos. Use the filter at the top to switch between Videos I own, Videos I present, and Owned or presenting.

  • Choose Add Video to upload a new video, or Edit to change one. Fill in the Title, Description, Room, and Status, then add your video file. A progress bar shows the upload.
  • For the thumbnail, upload an image or choose Select from Video to use a frame from the video. If you don’t choose one, a thumbnail is made for you when the video finishes processing.
  • Keep a video in Draft until you are ready to share it, then switch it to Published and choose Save Changes.
  • Deleting a video or a meeting is permanent. StaarCast asks you to confirm first.

Step 6: Pay-Per-View and your earnings

You can sell access to your meetings and videos. In the editing window, check Enable Pay-Per-View and set your Base Price. The window shows what each membership level pays after its discount, the Platform Fee, and Your Earnings. For meetings, a Pay-Per-View purchase includes the recording.

  • If a paid meeting runs past its scheduled length, a small per-minute usage fee for each attendee is taken from your payout for the extra time. The editing window shows the current rate.
  • Before a video you sell can be watched by buyers, we review and approve it for sale. You can always watch your own videos, so a video may look ready to you before it is open to buyers. If one seems stuck, please let us know.
  • Your Statistics page shows your current balance, pending and completed payouts, total earnings, and recent transactions. We review every payout before it is paid.
