We are completing our tax approvals before we open memberships.
Where things stand
StaarCast is built and ready to go. Before we open memberships for sale, we are completing the approval and setup of our tax collection. We expect to open as soon as that is finished.
Nothing is for sale yet, and no one has been charged.
Why the wait
Florida treats access to streaming and recorded content as a communications service, which is taxed separately from admission to an in-person event. The tax is also calculated based on where each member lives rather than where an event is held.
We would rather have this correct from the very first transaction than open quickly and fix it afterward. Our registration is in place, and we are finishing the remaining approvals and verifying our system against them.
What this means for you
Pricing is already published. You can review the membership tiers and prices on our Memberships page so you can plan ahead. Nothing on that page is purchasable yet.
Your StaarCon 6 plans are not affected. In-person tickets for StaarCon 6 are on sale now at staarcon.com. Our goal is to open StaarCast well ahead of the conference on October 2 through 4.
We will tell you the day we open. We will post here and send an email announcement as soon as memberships are available.
